I had a 30 year career with computers that included 10 years in my own business teaching
physically challenged adults how to use computers with voice commands.
I was a daughter of a spirit filled Father who was a pastor,
and a prayer warrior mother, who are both with the Lord.
These parents loved and
prayed me through difficult times as I chose a different and difficult
path that was scattered with broken relationships and abuse. God took this broken women, ME, even though I thought I had nothing of
value that God would use, and He began to “restore unto me for the years the
locusts had eaten”.
I started out as a volunteer with Greater Europe Mission,
teaching missionaries specific computer skills, and became an Associate Missionary
with them in 2008. I served primarily in Germany and
Ukraine. I implemented on-line bible
courses and taught Cross Cultural Training for short term mission teams.
In October 2011, God spoke to me and said He had a new
mission for me....a mission that would take me out of my comfort zone of
computers…and into an area where I would have to totally rely on Him for skill,
direction and resources….SEWING. He
awoke me one morning with an overwhelming desire to make quilts….and in 6 short
months provided the equipment, the skill, the passion and opened the doors of
opportunity….I just had to say YES and walk through it in faith.
Little scraps of
throwaway material, became the start of Garden of Hope Ministries, creating quilts
that comfort, quilts that touch a broken heart, quilts that make you smile. Designing and sewing quilts has become a way
to fulfill my passion to bring Christ to many hurting people.
It has been an amazing journey of faith and obedience. I awake every morning anxious to see what
miracles God will perform today.
